Take the Shortcut

24"x 48” original painting of Take the Shortcut

This painting was inspired by the narrow passages between New Orleans homes - spaces that are easy to overlook but often have so much character. The tucked-away bicycle, sunlit oak tree, contrasting house colors, and layered greenery give the passage a sense of movement and suggest that someone has simply taken the more interesting way through.
