A Few Doors Down

40"x 40” original painting of A Few Doors Down

This piece was inspired by the way New Orleans neighborhoods layer homes, greenery, and landmarks together, with the Basilica of St. Stephen visible just a few doors beyond the porch. I wanted the church to feel like part of everyday neighborhood life rather than the main subject, because in New Orleans there is always something beautiful and meaningful just a few doors down- a place to gather, a place to pray, or simply another reminder of what makes the city so special.
