To Be Loved Bayou
To Be Loved Bayou
Limited edition reworked canvas prints in varying sizes of To Be Loved Bayou from the A Tribute to New Orleans Collection
In To Be Loved Bayou, I sought to capture the intricate web of connections that define New Orleans, mapping its neighborhoods, streets, and waterways in a dynamic and textured way. Using a washed watercolor technique around the river and layering thick textures to highlight each block, I brought to life the rich diversity of the city through distinct color palettes. From the golden vibrance of the French Quarter to the lively energy of the Garden District, each neighborhood holds its own unique identity. This piece is a tribute to the people and communities that make New Orleans a place of deep connection and endless inspiration.
A Reworked Canvas Print is printed on high-quality Archival Gloss Canvas stretched over a wood frame that are then hand-embellished by Casey Langteau with thick acrylic brushstrokes and texture to create the impression of an original painting. Casey begins each rework by coating the printed canvas in a clear, glossy gel, mimicking the brushwork of the original piece. Then, she selectively adds thick colored paint to accent key elements of the image.
Each rework is a unique creation and a form of the original piece. This glossy, textured canvas imitates an original painting and elevates any art collection.
Reworked canvas prints will be limited and numbered 1-15

Artist statement:
This collection is a tribute to the vibrant community that has inspired and supported me since becoming a full-time artist, 5 years ago. While New Orleans has always fueled my creativity, it’s the people who have nurtured my artistic journey.
In this series, I revisit beloved subjects that have been cornerstones of my career, like the iconic St. Louis Cathedral and the map of New Orleans, while also introducing new scenes that capture the city’s timeless charm. Each painting reflects a unique facet of New Orleans, offering a glimpse into the city’s heart and soul.
These pieces hold special significance for me, as they mark the beginning of a new chapter for the gallery. This collection is not just a celebration of New Orleans, but a testament to the enduring spirit of a place that continues to inspire and enchant. I am beyond excited to share these paintings with you, as they are a
reflection of both my deep love for this city and my gratitude for the people who make it so extraordinary.
