River’s Last Light
River’s Last Light
Limited edition reworked canvas prints in varying sizes of River’s Last Light from the A Tribute to New Orleans Collection
River’s Last Light captures the serene beauty of the Mississippi River as the Natchez steamboat glides through the water, bathed in the warm hues of a vibrant sunset. Framed by majestic oak trees and surrounded by colorful wildflower blooms, this piece symbolizes the timeless connection between New Orleans and its river. The fading light reflects both the end of a day and the continuity of life along the river’s edge, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the ever-changing, yet enduring, spirit of this landscape.
A Reworked Canvas Print is printed on high-quality Archival Gloss Canvas stretched over a wood frame that are then hand-embellished by Casey Langteau with thick acrylic brushstrokes and texture to create the impression of an original painting. Casey begins each rework by coating the printed canvas in a clear, glossy gel, mimicking the brushwork of the original piece. Then, she selectively adds thick colored paint to accent key elements of the image.
Each rework is a unique creation and a form of the original piece. This glossy, textured canvas imitates an original painting and elevates any art collection.
Reworked canvas prints will be limited and numbered 1-15

Artist statement:
This collection is a tribute to the vibrant community that has inspired and supported me since becoming a full-time artist, 5 years ago. While New Orleans has always fueled my creativity, it’s the people who have nurtured my artistic journey.
In this series, I revisit beloved subjects that have been cornerstones of my career, like the iconic St. Louis Cathedral and the map of New Orleans, while also introducing new scenes that capture the city’s timeless charm. Each painting reflects a unique facet of New Orleans, offering a glimpse into the city’s heart and soul.
These pieces hold special significance for me, as they mark the beginning of a new chapter for the gallery. This collection is not just a celebration of New Orleans, but a testament to the enduring spirit of a place that continues to inspire and enchant. I am beyond excited to share these paintings with you, as they are a
reflection of both my deep love for this city and my gratitude for the people who make it so extraordinary.
