In Louisiana, we celebrate in our own wild and wonderful way—where even the swamp creatures join the parade. Flock Pardi is a whimsical yet regal tribute to Mardi Gras, reimagining the tradition of the King, Queen, and Jester with our state’s most iconic birds.
The elegant roseate spoonbill reigns as Queen, draped in soft pinks with an air of majesty. The noble pelican, Louisiana’s state bird, takes his place as King, a steadfast symbol of strength and resilience. And the lively egret, with its quirky charm, plays the role of the Jester, bringing movement and playfulness to the revelry. Together, they ride atop a grand alligator, adorned in festive beads—a nod to the spirit of New Orleans and the untamed beauty of the bayou.
This painting blends festivity with sophistication, capturing the splendor of Mardi Gras while maintaining a refined, neutral palette. The selective use of color and intricate details allow the composition to feel both celebratory and timeless. Flock Pardi is a dance of tradition and imagination, where nature and culture parade in harmony.
