60”x40" Original painting of The Classic to celebrate the 45th annual Crescent City Classic Race

Collect a piece of New Orleans history.

The perspective I chose for this year’s artwork features Esplanade Avenue, a huge portion of the marathon route. I knew Esplanade Avenue would be my ideal place to paint and shine light on as I’d be able to capture quintessential New Orleans architecture with lush native greenery and magnificent oaks.

In this piece, you can find a few fun additions, like the number 45 (in the runner’s bib and as the house address), which represents this year‘s race, Mardi Gras bunting and beads, the New Orleans city flag, and the Crescent City Classic flag. I painted the piece in a primarily neutral palette to let the architecture and foliage shine on their own.
