In this piece, I wanted to capture all of the best parts of Mardi Gras and what makes it so special.
I hope you have the urge to join in by singing your favorite jazz tune and dancing into the second line. All are welcome at this "Pardi"!
So, what makes Mardi Gras so special? For me, it's the music, artistry, and joy that each member of the city adds to the experience. It's a city-wide affair that celebrates life and indulges in things that make us happiest (mainly king cake). I love seeing the amount of time and creativity that goes into each float, costume, and even something as small as a Mardi Gras throw! (Hopefully one of these days I'll catch a coconut!)
