about the artist
Read about Casey's inspiration from her recent collections:
Casey Langteau Johnson was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. Casey has always been drawn to art, beginning her artistic exploration at the young age of 7, when she was accepted into a gifted art program. She continued her education throughout her young life, and when it was time to pick a major, it was an obvious choice. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Painting and Drawing from Louisiana State University.
Since then, Casey moved back to New Orleans, where she is constantly inspired by the beautiful creations of the Gulf Coast. With calming hues and detailed brush strokes, she exaggerates her subjects to highlight and remind the viewer of the sublime world around them.
Casey hopes that her artwork inspires the viewer to slow down and enjoy the little things in life. It's hard to turn off the immense distractions of everyday life to see how inspiring the world can be, but her hung artwork can be a practical and timely way to enjoy it. Her paintings have been brightening homes and lifting days since October 2015. She strives to continue making a house feel like a home full of charm with her southern artwork.
Casey's work can be found at Fur.nish on Causeway, The Royal Standard (Perkins and Gulfshores location), Redoux Home Market, and occasionally at Milestone Portrait Art and Design.
